The World Could Be Otherwise

Experience a six-hour meditation retreat with noted Zen master, poet, and found of Everyday Zen, Norman Fischer; the full title of this retreat is “The World Could Be Otherwise: Imagination and the Bodhisattva Path.” In this retreat you’ll practice sitting and walking and consider themes from Norman’s new book, The World Could Be Otherwise, about the bodhisattva path as a path of imagination. Books will be available for purchase.

Norman Fischer is a poet, essayist, and Zen Buddhist priest. He is one of the senior Zen teachers in America. The latest of his more than twenty-five poetry and prose titles are The World Could Be Otherwise: Imagination and the Bodhisattva Path (prose) and Untitled Series: Life As It Is (poetry). In 2000 he retired as co-abbot of the San Francisco Zen Center to found The Everyday Zen Foundation, an international network of Buddhist groups and social projects.
