Horses, trains, and time travel are all part of the fun at this 3-part camp that explores crafts, folk-art and old-time living through field trips to the McFarland Living History Ranch and California State Railroad Museum.
All aboard to the Wild West! Horses, trains, and time travel are all part of the fun at this 3 part camp that explores crafts and folk art, including sewing and quilting, basket weaving, printing, ceramics, and even metal work. This camp includes two field trips: McFarland Living History Ranch where campers will experience life without electricity, sculpt figures using corn husks, sketch outdoors, and churn butter; and the California State Railroad Museum where they’ll ride a train and sketch massive locomotives.
The Crocker’s high quality, full day art camps are designed to support campers as they explore, imagine, experiment, and create. Camps focus on process over product and offer campers an opportunity to explore diverse subjects and materials through the museum’s renowned collection and special exhibitions. Campers develop friendships and critical thinking skills through looking at, talking about, and making art.
