The Forgery Show is a collection of expertly-executed reproductions in oil of world-renown masterworks. This year’s paintings will represent works by Modigliani, Picasso, Georges de La Tour, Jacques–Louis David, Pieter Bruegel the Elder, Rembrandt, Rubens, Vermeer, and several others. The paintings displayed will be completed by 18 ArtRoster artists.
The artists meet weekly at Snow Creek Studios to hone their skills and creative expression by drawing and painting their own individual pieces. ArtRoster artists utilizes techniques from the Old Masters’ atelier system of the European classical and impressionistic painting schools, as well as more contemporary methods.
The annual Forgery Show began three years ago in 2013 when ten separate reproductions in oil of Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” were displayed at The Gallery in Mt. Shasta. Since then the number of participating artists has increased, as well as the variety of masterworks represented.
