Gold Spike Lecture: Experiences of Chinese Railroa...

Presented by Sacramento History Museum at California State Railroad Museum

Gordon H. Chang will deliver an important lecture about the recovery and interpretation of the Chinese railroad works who were instrumental in the building of the Transcontinental Railroad. Chang is an Olive H. Palmer Professor in the Humanities, Professor of American History at Stanford University, and author of Ghosts of Gold Mountain: The Epic Story of the Chinese Who Built the Transcontinental Railroad (to be released May 2019).

Timed to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad, the Sacramento History Museum — in partnership with the California State Railroad Museum, Center for Sacramento History, and the Crocker Art Museum — is proud to present the Gold Spike Lecture Series that will take place April through September 2019.
