Rock the Block is an opportunity for business leaders and individuals in our Sacramento region to join together with Leadership Sacramento, Habitat for Humanity Greater Sacramento and socially-engaged community leaders to improve our community.
Rock the Block is about more than just repairing homes for families in need, it’s about building hope and community for our neighbors. Over a single weekend, hundreds of volunteers will converge on a predetermined section of Oak Park to transform the community through a variety of neighborhood beautification and repair projects. This program responds to one factor in Sacramento’s growing problem of homelessness by solving health, accessibility and safety concerns in homes owned by low-income families and elderly residents on limited incomes. By fixing these long-deferred maintenance projects and code violations, we help families stay in their homes and off the streets.
Your involvement and financial support allows us to purchase the necessary building materials and important tools and supplies for these crucial community repairs, and to make sure our team of dedicated volunteers stay well-hydrated and fed as they work to raise, not just the roof, but the entire neighborhood!
