Davis Pride is an all inclusive celebration event for members and supporters of the LGBTQIA community. Davis Pride is a two-part large scale fundraising event: a 5 and 10k family fun run/walk followed by a free community festival.
Effie Passero, a Top 20 contestant on this season’s American Idol, is one of two headliners. Passero, 26, is a Modesto native with a passion for rock piano ballads rearranged from the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s. Other performers include co-headliner Thea Austin, former lead singer with SNAP!, known for the hits “Rhythm is a Dancer” and “(I’ve Got the) Power”; David Hernandez, an American Idol season seven alum; and diva Dida Ritz from season four of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Davis Live Music Collective coordinated bands including Shawn Thwaites Rebel Quartet, Tha Dirt Feelin’, La Tour and Telephone. There’s also Cheer Sacramento, Josh Diamonds, Cathy Speck, the Team Davis Singers and the Gay Men’s Chorus.

Davis Pride is produced by Davis Phoenix Coalition, a non-profit organization with a mission to foster diversity, eliminate intolerance, prevent hate-motivated violence and support LGBTQ youth.
This year’s Davis Pride Festival is dedicated to Sage Casey Schmitt, a Sonoma County teen who took their life on May 1, 2017, after coming out as gender fluid. Sage ran in the 2016 Davis Pride race and their family ran last year, just days after the 14-year-old’s death.
