Sacramento Black Book Fair

Presented by Blue Nile Press at Brickhouse Gallery

The Sacramento Black Book Fair will include book signings, talks by each featured writer, cultural vendors, food trucks, a Kids Zone, a community parade, poetry readings, writer’s circles, and art displays.

SBBF will feature more than fifty authors of African descent, showcasing and highlighting a diverse spectrum of authors and literature, from contemporary and historical fiction, to anthologies, poetry, academic books; children’s stories and books, non-fiction to biographies, self-help, inspirational, and religious.

Tentative Schedule:

Friday, June 1:
-6pm-7pm: Opening Reception at underground books
-7pm-9pm: Panel Discussion at The Guild Theater
-9pm-11pm: Gala Art Reception and Jazz Mixer at The Brickhouse Art Gallery

Saturday, June 2:
-10am: Books on Parade at Women’s Civic Improvement Center
-10:30am-7pm: Writer Discussions at The Guild Theater
-10:30am-7pm: Writer Discussions at Off Broadway Blues & Cafe
-10:30am-7pm: Writers Circle Events at Women’s Civic Improvement Center
-10:30am-7pm: Writers Circle Events at underground books
-11am-5pm: The Kids Zone at The Brickhouse Art Gallery
-1:30pm-7pm: Writing Workshops at Alpha Kappa Sorority, Inc.
