Join the Brickhouse Gallery for its Opening Art Reception and First Fridays, as it kicks off Photography Month Sacramento with its group invitational photography exhibition of local Sacramento photographers. Meet and greet with artists and view the documentary, Everybody Street, a focus on street photography, shot by Cheryl Dunn. There will also be music, food, and more.
Since 2002 the National Endowment for the Arts has tracked a sharp decline in attendance of visual art displays in both museums and galleries. Given these findings Photography Month Sacramento seeks to expand awareness and participation in the art of photography through accessible presentation and engaging education. The month is working towards providing more physical spaces dedicated to the appreciation of the visual arts to create opportunities for vital discussions about images and ideas, to bring diverse communities together in a shared space, and to generate income for the local economy.
