As the Gold Rush drew thousands of people to California, the new profession of photography was there capturing their images. Presented as part of Photography Month Sacramento, the Sacramento History Museum is exhibiting early images and equipment and looking at rise of photography during Sacramento’s early years.
Visitors will be able to view a short video on the process of making a daguerreotype and be introduced to several local 19th century photographers.
