Few people know the Bridge and its history as well as photographer and architect Bob David. For 30 years he was the design director of the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District. During that time as an informal historian of the bridge he documented various construction projects, including the re-decking work in the 1980s and the ongoing seismic retrofit.
He has captured the bridge’s vibrant color in some 20,000 photographs, often using a large-format camera. Bob will show some of his breathtaking photos and share stories about the Bridge’s history and architecture.
