Sacramento-born and London-based pianist Anyssa Neumann presents a program of Central European composers inspired by the Crocker’s permanent collection of European paintings.
This concert of 19th- and early 20th-century works includes pieces by Richard Strauss (Bavaria), Leoš Janáček (Czech Republic), Nicolai Medtner (Russia), and Ernst von Dohnányi (Hungary). A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, Oxford University, and Kings College London, Neumann is active as a performer and researcher, and has been praised for the “clarity, charm, and equipoise” of her performances.
For more than 50 years, the Crocker has proudly presented its Classical Concert Series, a monthly concert featuring the finest musicians and singers from around the region and across the world.
