This year the Soil Born Farms 14th Annual Fundraiser Autumn Equinox Celebration will be held at the American River Ranch, a historic 55 acre urban agricultural oasis located on the American River Parkway. Explore the farm and gardens, enjoy live music, sample seasonal and organic food prepared by prominent local chefs. Taste exceptional wine, beer and celebrate the harvest season under the stars. Get your tickets early, this traditional Farm-to-Fork event sells out.
For the past thirteen years the Autumn Equinox Celebration has brought together local chefs, farmers, restaurants, bakeries, wineries, breweries and producers that are trailblazers in Sacramento’s local food movement. The generosity of the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op, participating businesses, musicians, volunteers, underwriters and attendees provides essential financial resources that Soil Born Farms needs to continue and expand its work in the community.
Through collaborations with many partners, including the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services, Soil Born Farms Urban Agriculture and Education Project provides leadership and is focused on improving healthy food access for all, training new farmers and urban gardeners, educating youth and adults, creating school gardens and the restoration of the American River Ranch. Soil Born Farms is transforming this beautiful, regional treasure into a community farm and center for food, health and the environment for all to enjoy.
By working together, it is possible for everyone in the Farm-to-Fork Capital to have access to healthy food. We can reduce hunger and improve health by increasing the capacity of the urban environment to produce more food to help feed those who need it most.
