For the third year in a row, Grass Valley will host the only fringe theater festival in the Sierra Foothills and surrounding area.
The Nugget Fringe Theater Festival spans ten days and features 118 live performances of more than 35 shows at seven intimate venues in downtown Grass Valley.
Performances will be eclectic, creative, sometimes experimental, and often completely out of the ordinary. From a Vietnam Vet’s 50 year retrospective in Hey, Hey LBJ or A Feeble Minded Dictator where three women living in isolation fall prey to their vicious vices, to Tales of a Sexual Tomboy a boisterous one-woman comedy that blends stand-up with storytelling.
Performance venues range from a few dozen seats to more than a hundred and include stages at the Unitarian Universalist Community of the Mountains, 151 Union Square, Smith Vineyard Tasting Room, The Holbrook Hotel, and Off-Center Stage.
