Join in to welcome December’s artist of the month, Alexandra Yakovleva, to the walls of Shine.

Alexandra Yakovleva was born and raised in Russia, in the seaport city of Kaliningrad. She primarily works in the oil medium of painting. Alexandra studied at the Kaliningrad Art school from 1994 through 2000, and completed additional coursework towards her Masters of Fine Art at the same institution.

During her studies while in art school, Alexandra exhibited her work in the Kaliningrad Art Gallery and showed her work in Kaliningrad City Hall.

In 2007, she moved to the United States and lived in South Lake Tahoe for nine years until 2016, when she moved to Sacramento.

Alexandra embraces oil painting and loves the abstract and surrealism genres, which are her predominant style of painting. She sets her mind into a journey to discover new ideas for a paintings. The inspirations also come from reading, listening, traveling, and dreaming.
