    Sacramento County UC Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who provide University of California approved horticulture information to the home gardeners of our county.  This research-based horticulture information is provided through phone and office consultations, plant clinics, workshops, symposiums, youth gardening programs, a speaker's bureau, radio and television programs, newspaper and magazine articles, and our website.  Sacramento County Master Gardeners collaborate with city and county departments to provide information on water quality and composting, they maintain the demonstration gardens at the Fair Oaks Horticulture Center, and coordinate the annual Harvest Day educational event the first Saturday in August.
