This celebration honors the 148th anniversary of the first Japanese colony in America who arrived at Gold Hill on June 8, 1869. American River Conservancy honors these early pioneers offering a kite festival, including food and beer for purchase, a raffle, and light entertainment.
Bring your own single-lined kite or make a kite to fly at Wakamatsu Farm. Picnics are welcome and bring along a chair. Amenities at Wakamatsu Farm are limited.
