Using Online Historical Black Newspapers for Genealogical Research

Many historical African American and abolitionist newspapers are available online, with more being added all the time. This presentation will provide an overview of the roles of black newspapers, discuss what newspapers are online and where they are, suggest access strategies, and show sample search results.

The event’s speaker will be professional genealogist Janice Sellers.

Note: This program will be held in the West Meeting Room on the 1st floor of the Central Library.
