Upstairs at The B Presents: A Yippie’s Day in Disneyland

On August 6, 1970, the Youth International Party (YIPPIE for short), went to Anaheim, CA and invaded Disneyland. Their attempts to protest the corporation’s contribution to American society was easily squandered, and left the Yippie organization defeated and deflated. Two days later, after a day spent in an Anaheim jail, a member of the organization returns to her San Francisco apartment with an impossible task: to record her knowledge about the Yippies and to deliver it to the FBI.

With the future of her friends in her hands, Louise Sawyer conveys the reasoning behind the Yippie’s, their dream about creating a new America, and her doubts of that dream ever coming to fruition.
