Nick Shepard is a photographer based in Sacramento, CA where he is a resident artist at Verge Center for the Arts. He grew up in New York City, attended Carleton College in Northfield, MN, and then the School of Visual Arts in NYC. His work was recently featured in the Oregon Biennial 2016: The Salon, and in Photography Now 2015 at the Center for Photography at Woodstock. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Photography at Sacramento State University.
William Mead is originally from Boston, Massachusetts, and received his BFA in painting and sculpture from Parsons School of Art and Design in New York City. Since 2005 he has focused most his efforts on design, web development and teaching. William is interested in questions about time, randomness, freedom, patterns, permanence, and the nature of creativity. Currently, his work is inspired by the abstract expressionism of the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s. Mead is also very much interested in exploring new media, such as the world wide web and programming to push art into spaces usually reserved for commercial endeavors.
