Tonglen Meditation: Overcoming Fear of Suffering
Tonglen meditation is a “mind training” in the “Lamrin” group of Tibetan Buddhist instruction and practice. Known as the practice of “sending and receiving,” it is an ancient meditation practice to help us overcome our fear of suffering in ourselves and in others, and to awaken our compassion. In this practice, one learns to breathe in the suffering of others, and to breathe out their relief and compassion.
