Tera Melos and Speedy Ortiz

Tera Melos is an experimental math rock band from Sacramento that juxtaposes time signatures and indie influences. The local three-piece has a penchant for toying with song structure to the point of it being unrecognizable, but it works. Tera Melos is controlled chaos that seems to have an impeccable understanding of rhythm and time.

Speedy Ortiz is a noise pop and grunge band from Massachusetts that is fronted by notable musician Sadie Dupuis. The New England four-piece is another band known for creating chaos within their own controlled parameters. These four throw noise and distortion at a track, then whittle it all down to a sound that is all their own. They tame their music like a trainer does a wild animal. It’s chaotic, loud and utterly satisfying.
