Tennyson is a Canadian duo that fuses electronic music with soulful rhythm and blues vocals in an effort to push both genres progressively forward. Since rhythm and blues has always been a musical style that is willing to experiment and adapt with the times, crooners and songstresses alike have been able to take electronic instrumentation and utilize it the way it is today. The fusion of the two worlds has recently been gaining popularity in the U.K. with artists like James Blake and Sampha. However, Tennyson is on that same team, yet in another hemisphere. Tennyson focuses on the electronics, bringing in vocals as another element to a song, rather than its epicenter. The duo’s music is soft, spacey and danceable. The pair are a hive mind of musical thought, collaborating on each note to make sure a desired perfection is achieved.
