Teagarden Jazz Festival for Young Musicians

Teagarden Jazz Festival presents a weekend of jazz in Sacramento. The joy of New Orleans-style jazz is at the heart of this scholastic combo festival, which is dedicated to fostering a better appreciation of this classic American art form.

The day of jazz performances includes clinicians-led jam sessions, guest artist presentations, a New Orleans-style brass band parade on campus, awards, and more!

  1. Would there be any interest in a talk about jazz, blues and ragtime pianists who recorded player piano rolls? This would include pianists from Southside Chicago, New York and Chicago. Some of the earliest examples of boogie woogie were recorded on player piano and nickelodeon rolls.
