Sunday Matinee Classics: A Night to Remember

Considered the definitive edition, this British production of 1958 is a meticulously produced documentary style feature film of the sinking of the “unsinkable” Titanic. With a superb combination of disaster spectacle and emotional byplay, the movie is a notable contrast to Hollywood’s Titanic films. Directed by Roy (Ward) Baker, it stars British actor Kenneth More with a vivid adaptation by Eric Ambler from Walter Lord’s classic book. This program will include introductory and closing commentary.
