Saturday Evening Jazz: Sacramento Jazz Messengers

Mango’s Saturday Evening Jazz presents the Sacramento Jazz Messengers.

The Sacramento Classic Jazz Messengers is a group formed by the director and trumpeter Chet Chwalik and is comprised of some of the finest jazz musicians and recording artists in Northern California. Other members include Darius Babazadeh, Al Bent, Randy Sandoli, Kerry Kashiwagi and Mat Marucci.

The group plays jazz classics as played by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers (particularly early to mid-1960’s and beyond) as well as music by post-bop horn players such as Freddie Hubbard, Hank Mobley, Wayne Shorter, and original compositions by himself and other members of the group.
