In honor of Memorial Day, the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium invites the public to an open house. Built in 1927, the auditorium is not only a gathering place for the community, it is a tribute to the men and women who made the supreme sacrifice in service to our country.
Docents will be stationed throughout the building giving members of the public a chance to see interesting points of interest including:

-Memorial Hall houses ten marble tablets listing the names of the Sacramento citizens who gave their lives in the service and protection of our country.
The film, Memorial 90, will also be screened throughout the afternoon. Produced by the City of Sacramento Convention and Cultural Service Department in celebration of the building’s 90th anniversary, this short film includes historic photos and footage from the auditorium’s first 90 years. The film will screen every 15 minutes throughout the day.
Local organist Mr. Dave Moreno will be playing patriotic songs on the Estey Municipal Organ. Members of the public can get an up-close look at the organ console and Mr. Moreno will explain how the console operates.
