Sacramento Community Theater and Convention Center First Concepts Open House

See and learn more about the transformative renovation of the Community Theater and the expansion of the Sacramento Convention Center. Also learn about how the Memorial Auditorium will be modified for one season of performances during construction at the Theater and Convention Center.

Join City staff to gain an understanding of the recommended options for each. The architects will present the initial concepts and answer questions.

The Community Center Theater opened in 1974 and has not undergone a major renovation since that time. Additionally, no major physical improvements have been made to the Convention Center in the last two decades. Renovation of the Theater and expansion of the Convention Center will enhance the arts and cultural experience as well as place Sacramento in a better position to compete for conventions, meetings, and corporate events. The budget for the project is $200 million. $20 million of the budget must be raised with private donations.
