Playground Daze

2nd Saturday at The Art Studios features Playground Daze, the artwork of Kevin Wilhite and guest artist Riomae Guerrero. As a child, Kevin was always playing with toy trucks in the dirt. He created magical roads, tunnels, and holes with his toy trucks. In this new series of paintings, he brings his childhood back onto the canvas. Using oil paint and a palette knife he has created a visual interpretation of his experience growing up with these toys. Guest Artist Riomae Guerrero is a Filipino artist based in California, currently studying Art Education at Sacramento State. Drawing from life and the abstract, Riomae’s art uses bright colors and oil pastels to explore themes of childhood, nostalgia, and future hopes.

In addition to the featured show in the big gallery, the four studios of the 16 resident artists of The Art Studios will also be open for your enjoyment.
