Pioneers in Petticoats
Stroll the cemetery and learn about Sacramento’s very own pioneer women!
Coming to California in the mid-1850s in a covered wagon was not a luxury vacation. As women and children walked (not rode) across the plains, they picked up buffalo dung to use for fuel, and had not bathrooms or running water. Hear their own experiences ripped from diaries written by our pioneer ancestors. Definitely not a weaker sex!
