The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament hosts talented, young organist, Jacob Kasak. Jacob Kasak performs works by Weckmann, Buxtehude, Bach, Reger, Vierne, Bridge, and Esary.
Jacob is from Orangevale and graduated from the University of Rochester -Eastman School of Music this past May with a B.M. in organ performance. He studied organ with Professor Nathan Laube and improvisation with Professor Edoardo Bellotti; Jacob graduated with distinction and a concentration in Italian studies.

Jacob is from Orangevale and graduated from the University of Rochester -Eastman School of Music this past May with a B.M. in organ performance. He studied organ with Professor Nathan Laube and improvisation with Professor Edoardo Bellotti; Jacob graduated with distinction and a concentration in Italian studies.
Jacob began his musical career as a boy chorister at St. Stephen the First Martyr Parish in Sacramento. After seven years of piano lessons, he earned a scholarship for twenty free organ lessons from the Sacramento AGO Chapter. He began his organ studies under Mr. Rexphil Rallanka at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Sacramento during October of 2010. Jacob soon began improvising during Low Mass and later became the substitute organist at St. Stephen’s.
Jacob serves as organist at St. Stephen’s in Sacramento while coaching the other young organists there. Jacob also music directs various additional Masses around Sacramento for weddings, anniversaries and birthdays. He has now taught at two chant camps at St. Stephen’s these past two summers. Jacob also took a trip to Rome in the summer of 2016 during which he played the prelude and postlude for a Sunday High Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica.
