New Year’s Eve Sky Spectacular

Sponsored by the City of Sacramento and produced by Visit Sacramento, residents are invited to the biggest, admission-free New Year’s party as the 2017 Sky Spectacular returns to Old Sacramento’s waterfront. This year’s event will cater to residents of all ages, with live music, refreshments, games, and an awe-inspiring fireworks show.

While Old Sacramento will continue the celebration at local restaurants and bars throughout the district, Visit Sacramento has centered this year’s Sky Spectacular around one fireworks show (instead of two, as in previous years).

While the schedule for this year’s event is new, the budget, staffing, and planning involved to produce the event have remained the same. What used to be a 13-minute display and a 7-minute show, will now be combined into the longest fireworks display in Sacramento at over 20 minutes. Plus, to cater to the family-friendly time frame of the earlier sky concert, more kid-centric entertainment will fill the streets of Old Sacramento before the show. From unique live music to strolling superheroes, this party has been designed to delight the community.
