A graduate of UC Davis received her MD from St Louis University school of Medicine on a Navy scholarship and came on active duty in 1975. A graduate of UC Davis received her MD from St Louis University school of Medicine on a Navy scholarship and came on active duty in 1975. RADM Potter has served in many challenging assignments in her Navy career including a combat tour as the Director of Medical Services, USNS Comfort during Operations Desert Shield/Storm. Of her many achievements she also has the distinction of being the first female physician in the military to be selected for “Flag” rank (Admiral or General). RADM Potter will share her personal insight and speak to the challenges that women in the Sea Services have faced and the contributions they have made.
CAPT Carola J. List USCG
Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Air Station Sacramento has realized her lifelong ambition to become a military aviator, and in the process has also become a highly effective and respected leader. She is a member of an exclusive group of female officers holding a command position in a predominantly male profession. Captain List has served in many challenging assignments in her Coast Guard career and will share from her experience both the challenges and the opportunities available to women who serve in today’s Sea Services.
CPO Erin Cross-Kaplan NSCC
Is the 2017 Sea Cadet of the year for NSCC Pacific Central Region and one of eight selected to represent the NSCC aboard USCGC Eagle, and one of two selected for the SCC IEP to the United Kingdom. She has served in progressively more challenging and responsible positions culminating with service as Cadet Battalion Commander for the NSCC RTC in PSW-11, a national-level cadet recruit training operation. She also leads an Army JROTC unit and is a peer STEM mentor. CPO Erin Cross- Kaplan has a letter assuring her an appointment to the USNA pending satisfactory medical qualification.
