Artspace 1616 is please to announce the exhibition of new work by local artist, John Yoyogi Fortes. Fortes is best known for his large canvases filled with quirky yet humorous characters and often a dense layering of imagery and textual puns. This exhibition marks a return for Fortes with a Sacramento showing of this scale, his last being an exhibit at Skinner Howard Contemporary Art in 2008.
