Linocut Relief Printmaking

Explore linocut relief printmaking and print multiple copies of an image. Participants in this workshop will learn the fundamentals of making black and white relief prints. The two session class will cover block preparation, transferring an image onto the block, carving techniques, and the printing process. Participants will leave with prints and with a carved linoleum block which can be used to make more prints. No experience necessary! This class will take place at Myrtle Press located inside Verge Center of the Arts

About the Instructor:
Sandy Fong Whetstone is a interdisciplinary artist working in ceramics, printmaking, acrylic painting and fiber. Her work can be found at the Crocker Museum Store, The Sparrow Gallery, The Pence Gallery in Davis, Arts Benicia, and Camelot Gallery in Nevada City.
