Jay Hollingsworth

“Big Irish” Jay Hollingsworth started his stand-up career in Boston where he was named “Best Comedy Export” by the Boston Examiner. Since leaving Massachusetts, Jay has starred in the movie Comics BBQ and recently won the March Comedy Madness competition in Los Angeles. He has also been a finalist in multiple comedy competitions including the Bay Area Black Comedy Competition, The Shades of Laughs and the Magners USA Comedy Festival.

Jay is the creator and host of the hit live show True Story which features comedians presenting their stand-up, followed by a take-no-prisoners Q&A that examines which elements are true and what’s been manipulated for comedic effect. By fusing the forensic with the funny, Hollingsworth illuminates the back-stories behind the tall tales, offering a rare glimpse inside the craftsmanship of comedy. The True Story show has been featured at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival as well as the Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival.
