Placer Repertory Theater is pleased to announce key guests for our Collaboration LAB line-up of Thursday, February 25 at 7 p.m., featuring the theme, “Things we have in common…”. The evening will start with a video and discussion about Lynn Nottage, the New York two-time Pulitzer Prize winner for Drama, and LIVE special guest, Manuel Crosby, a Lake Tahoe area filmmaker whose recent project, First Date, was just selected for the Sundance Film Festival.
Collaboration LAB is a free monthly open stage / open mic for the arts, culture and humanities via Zoom, on the last Thursday of each month at 7pm January through October 2021. Participants register in advance via email (boxoffice@placerrep.org) for a presentation slot, and may try out new material, share a new work, hone their performance or presentation skills, seek collaborators, market themselves or their group, and may choose to receive feedback from attendees. From actors, singer/songwriters, and filmmakers, to visual artists, stand-up comedians, writers, crafters, non-profit organizations, city/county/state agencies and historical researchers, Placer County creatives and cultural advocates come together to incubate new works and ideas in an open and supportive atmosphere.
The line-up to-date of LIVE performers and presenters for February 25, 2021 includes:
-Lynn Nottage (TCG video & discussion) – NY two-time Pulitzer Prize winner for Drama
-Manuel Crosby (live interview) – Lake Tahoe Filmmaker of First Date, selected for Sundance Film Festival
-Linda Hoschler (live) Placer County glass artist, representing Rocklin Fine Arts
-Sanjay R. Singhal (live) Chicago author and architect, reads from one of his works.
-Sherlock Holmes: Domestic Mysteries, episode 4 (video and live discussion with the Placer County artists)
-Anne Merino (live) Placer County author, administrator, educator, reads from her works.
-Natalie Farrell (live) San Francisco poet & performance artist shares her work.
-Paulina Pino Rubio (live) Northern CA actor, originally from Mexico, performs
-Ryan Gerberding (live) Rocklin singer/songwriter shares his new work
-Kevin Foster (live) Placer County singer/actor performs
-Kate Brolan (live) Sacramento Metro Area actor & author performs
-Kevin Foster presents information on behalf of the Black Youth Leadership Project.
