With nearly 20 proposals on the ballot this year, voters must make important choices on a wide variety of proposals that will impact Californians for decades to come. Facing a deluge of advertising on some measures and a dearth of information on others, how can voters prepare themselves to make informed choices?
At California Votes, both sides of six controversial California state ballot measures will be presented by the measure’s proponents and the opposition.
The forum will examine Proposition 53: Public Works Projects; Proposition 55: Tax Extension; Proposition 61: Prescription Drug Costs; Propositions 62 & 66; The Death Penalty; Proposition 64; Marijuana Legalization.
Notable California journalists including John Myers of the Los Angeles Times, Chris Nichols of Politifact California, Carla Marinucci of Politico, Marisa Lagos of KQED, and Daniel Weintraub of The California Health Report will moderate. Through spirited discussion and reasoned debate, each hour-long panel will explore the strengths and weaknesses of the proposition. We’ll set aside time for audience questions.
Attend the full day or choose individual panels.
