According to Bazooka features new Americana originals with regional duo Richard Urbino on guitar and vocals and René Martucci on accordion and vocals. California influences are infused into this songwriting team’s music. Their sound recalls generations of musical duos such as The Everly Brothers, Bodeans, She and Him and more. According to Bazooka features all original music in an indie-folk-pop format that has a fun and energetic vibe. Inspired by life in the Sacramento Valley, their songs weave genres like folk, country, rock and zydeco into a lively and engaging show. Their unique sound is a blend of archtop guitar layered over the reedy tone of the accordion and overlaid with male and female vocals. Titles such as “Highway Five,” “She Dances Alone,” and “Figure It Out” explore themes of life’s travels, relationships and reappraisals with humor and spirit. Their 2015 CD release “Easy Come, Easy Go” features 11 catchy pop songs. Their second album is being produced by Sacramento’s David Houston and will debut later in 2017.
