The Bachathon, from 2 p.m. until 5:45 or so, seeks to raise funds for the AGO (American Guild of Organists) Sacramento chapter’s Organ Student Scholarship. This scholarships allows three to four promising young organ students 20 lessons, free of tuition, to be taught by a chapter teacher. The program in recent memory has been a launching pad for there or more local organists who have gone on to study the instrument seriously. The organ at St. John’s is a good one on which to hear the works of Bach. Please come hear and see (there will be a video screen from which the audience can see the organists playing)!
