Akira Beard: Life Drawing

Groundswell presents installation and works by artist Akira Beard. Life Drawing is a body of work where Beard aims to draw his journey and exploration of the subconscious.

“If the subconscious mind could be projected onto a flatscreen, what images would appear? What sort of story might they tell? The drawings in this body of work aim to do just that.”

Starting with ink pen and paper, Beard never knows what will reveal itself in front of him. Of a hundred drawings Beard says that he may only consider ten to be included in this series, totaling over a hundred works that took more than two years to complete.
