A Holiday Concert

The American River College Orchestra will perform a variety of familiar holiday pieces. Director Dr. Steven Thompson has chosen some traditional pieces, like the “Blue Danube Waltz” that the Vienna Philharmonic always plays in their New Year’s Concert, and some fast-paced numbers that capture the joy around the holidays, like several pieces from The Nutcracker Suite.

A mix of 75 student, professional, and amateur musicians make up the orchestra, who come from a wide variety of backgrounds, all looking to play in a supportive and fun environment.
