170th Anniversary of the California Gold Rush: A Black History Month Celebration

Free and enslaved, people of African Heritage were a big part of the California Gold Rush.

Beginning in January of 1848 in Coloma Valley, CA, the world rushed in, looking for gold.

Enjoy this 2018 Sacramento Black History Month Celebration to research, document, preserve and celebrate the California Pan African Heritage during the California Gold Rush Era.

Topics and timeline will include:
