Auburn Winter Storytelling Festival

Auburn Winter Storytelling Festival, presented by the Foothill Storytelling Guild, is an all day and into the night event staged in an art gallery. The one day event starts with a children’s hour, a workshop for those learning the art of telling takes the hour after lunch break. The afternoon is filled with Open Telling, where anyone can stand up and tell a story, and later the Liar’s Contest where the biggest whopper wins a trophy.

Later in the day, experts will take the stage to share stories for grown-ups. In previous years, there was the saga of taking a lovely young heifer to be serviced by a big ugly Brahma bull, a tale of the holiday pie lost from the top of Dad’s car when he went for batteries, and last year the story of the surrender of General Lee.
